"mud + acid"

Artists Nick D’Alessandro and Christine Tarkowski launch their co-lab The Stain Lab with a premier of their inaugural collection “mud + acid”.

Their textiles are brewed in a plant slurry, then hand screen printed with fiber-reactive dyes to produce abstract space and chromatic landscapes.

Each cloth’s individual eccentricities prompts a final wearable form, resulting in a lone charismatic garment.

“mud + acid” is a collection of one-off wearables combining idiosyncratically affected textiles with collaboratively architected design.

Only one of each wearable item is in existence, and only one ever will.
